Web development that doesn’t lock you in

Web development is the process of turning a design into a working website - the code, the systems, and the behind-the-scenes setup that make a site actually run.

We build modern, fast-loading websites using the right tools for your business needs, not a one-size-fits-all template. Whether it's a marketing site, a blog, or an online store, we keep things simple, scalable and easy to update - for businesses in Norwich and beyond.

What is web development?

Web development covers everything that happens after a design is signed off. It's the part where pages become clickable, forms actually send & products get added to baskets.

This is where a web developer comes in - turning designs and ideas into a site that actually works, and keeping it running smoothly once it's live.

It's easy to add "web design" and "web development" together, and for smaller projects, they often happen side by side. But they're different skills.

Design is about how a site looks and feels.

Development is about how it's built and how it runs - the code underneath, the systems that power it, and how well it holds up as your business grows.

Good web development means your site loads quickly, works as expected on every device, is easy to maintain, and won't need rebuilding from scratch the moment you want to add something new.

Our development process

We keep our process clear and collaborative from start to finish, so you always know what's happening and why. Here's how a typical web development project runs, from that first conversation through to launch and beyond.

We start by understanding what the site needs to do: for your customers, your team, and for your business goals. This shapes every technical decision that follows.

We also discuss your plans for design, whether that be something you have already in progress or if we can feature that into a task we work together on first.

If you don't have a sitemap already created, we work with you to map out how the site will be structured - pages, content types, integrations and choose the right platform for the job.

We write clean, well-structured code, building the site to be fast, secure and easy for your team to update afterwards.

Every build is checked across devices and browsers, with refinements made before anything goes live. This is also where you first will see it in action and carry out your own user testing.

We handle the technical side of going live, then guide you through how to use your new site.

It is not often I'm speechless, I'm absolutely amazed at the site it looks fantastic!

FAQs

Some of the questions we're asked most when businesses are thinking about a web development project.

It depends on scope - a straightforward marketing site can take a few weeks, while an online store or custom-built tool takes longer. We'll give you a realistic timeline once we understand what you need.

That depends on what the site needs to do. Next.js and PayloadCMS suit content-heavy or high-performance sites, WordPress and WooCommerce work well for stores and businesses that want to manage their own content easily, and Laravel is best for custom internal tools. We'll recommend an option based on your goals, not a one-size-fits-all default.

Yes - we build WooCommerce stores for businesses that want a straightforward, reliable way to sell online, with an admin setup that's easy to manage yourselves.

Yes. We're happy to help with updates, changes and support after your site goes live as part of our ongoing website maintenance & support service.

Yes - while we're a Norwich-based web developer, we work with businesses across Norfolk and beyond. Most of our work is done remotely, so location isn't a barrier.

Yes - if you've already got a design, brand guidelines, or a design file ready to go, we're happy to take on the development side on its own, without needing to handle the design too.

Not quite as we need something to build from, whether that's a full set of pages or a rough starting point. We work from Figma files by preference, but we're just as happy with designs from Canva, Sketch, or other platforms. If you don't have a design yet, we can discuss creating them for you as part of the project.

Looking for just development?

If you've already got a design, brand guidelines, or an existing site that just needs rebuilding, we can take care of the development side alone.

Starting from the beginning?

We can handle the whole project, which includes both web design and web development together - so you get one consistent site from start to finish.
